| Starcraft 2 is a better Starcraft |
After about 100 of games in Starcraft 2, I must say this. Starcraft 2 is better than Starcraft 1.
The facilities provided fulfill almost all flaw from Starcraft 1. Here are my comments on why Starcraft 2 is a much better game.
1. Create Party feature has eliminates all type of join game with ally problem.
2. The league will not be abused due to auto matching system and so, the rank will be a very important and accurate figure to show how good you are.
3. 2vs2 and 3vs3 with different ally give you different ranking, and thus, you don't have to worry your lousy ally will pull your ranking down. Battle.net keeps all your record with different ally.
4. There is no gangstar's hangout (chat channel) anymore, thus no one is being bullied. Although this feature will definitely create less community-based-scene, but it definitely make life in Battle.net peaceful as you only talk/chat with your close friend. I wonder if Blizzard will open up chat channel one day later. With a chat channel, one can arrange the tournament easier.
5. Battle.net force me to master many maps. With the ranking/league, many don't play casual games anymore. When you play in a league, Battle.net pick maps for you, thus you will have to play many maps... which is a good thing.
6. Unit wise is awesome. Much better than Starcraft 1 with many variety of strategies.
7. 2on2 and 3on3 is awesome with feature such as "send money" and "let control".
For those who are still playing Starcraft 1, it is time to move forward and play Starcraft 2. I assure you, the more you play, the more you will like it.

| Played Multiplayer Battle.net |
Just finish some 1vs1 and 3vs3 auto matching system.
3on3 I got a Gold Rank.
1on1 I got a Platinum Rank.
My comment so far.
1. Before the game started, it should have a counter (at least 3 secs) so that I can get ready to click on my SCV.
2. Marauders are damn strong. It is almost like Dragoon in BGH.
3. Terran is playing offensive now.
4. I missed Spider Mines.
5. 3on3 maps felt like Zero Clutter, kinda boring.
6. 1on1 maps are good because the expansion is very near the base and can be easily protected from main.
7. I hope there is an official BGH map from Blizzard. BGH is based on imbalanced and super big base. That's where the fun was.
8. Zealot is kidda weak without Leg Upgrade.
9. Overall, the punch of the whole game is less compared to SC1. SC1 is more intense, in music and firepower.
10. SC2 is full of new strategies and options such as allowing your ally to control your units and shared mineral after died.
11. Battle.net 2.0 is awesome. |
| Just finished SC2 |
Campaign is cool, full of suspense, great plot and with good humor :)
Love how Blizzard crafted this out, especially the storyline.
Game is lagging real bad (when massive units fighting) even in low setting mode using my Alienware machine.
Have not explore skirmish yet and how Battle.net 2.0 works.
I promised myself that I will play SC2 in casual way and will not go hardcore like SC1.
"Take it slow...", said Mr BC.

| HELL IS ALREADY TIME! |
Just bought my copy of Starcraft 2 today.
Installed and patched updated.
Played the campaign in Hard mode (there are 4 levels, easy, medium, hard, and brutal). Is quite easy to play in hard mode.
Game setting is set to fastest.
And it is real too fast. I almost always had mineral over 500.
Many hotkeys have changed.
A = Marine
E = Medic
Y = Rally
Units size are small and detail. Hard to get used to it sometimes.
Game is ultra smooth in normal battle scene.
But, game do lag when the screen is full of units.
Can't find the subtitle for the ingame.
Campaign has options and path you wanted to choose, such as mission, buy stuff with your reward, and who to talk to... and etc.
Ultimately, it is quite a whole new world to me as a regular BGHers.
Haven't checked out if there is a BGH map yet in SC2.
I shall only concentrate playing the campaign and to love the storyline as of now.
Peace~

| Starcraft 2 Will Be Released on 27 July 2010 (Confirmed) |
Finally a confirmation date of Starcraft 2. Now the question is... will you be playing Starcraft 2 competitively like how you play Starcraft 1, and spent over 10,000 hours on it?
Starcraft 2 may not be a better game than than Starcraft 1, but the number of gamers for Starcraft 2 will surely exceed Starcraft 1 by miles. There is no question about it that the majority of Starcraft 1 gamers will migrate to Starcraft 2, as well as other gamers.
But problem still remain on hardwares. Many of us do not own a good computer and the game may sucks with lousy hardwares. I have tried Starcraft 2 replay version (cracked) on the latest Alienware machine and it was a little disappointing.
All and all, I myself will be playing Starcraft 2, but may not spend as much time as I have in Starcraft 1. What about you?

| Back to Normal |
The site has been down due to technical reason for the past 2 weeks. I guess it is fixed now, though. Sorry for all the inconvenience, and I hope to have a much steadier server ahead. |
| Back from Holiday |
Just got back from a long 5 days holiday at Hong Kong. Is been an amazing and wonderful holiday.
So, I've just come back to the site and I knew there are certain people I need to ban right away. Didn't read the posts thoroughly, but just ban them straight as it is a waste of time to read. What a fail troll.
Hope to have a much peaceful site onwards and a more progressive discussion. Troll will be instantly ban/delete whenever I see one. Thanks for all the support. |
| Translation of the Year |
Angryjew (a hacker that accidentally screenshot and posted his own hack) has been getting punch over punch by the BGHers. This is so funny and I just can't keep this to myself.
And the below has got to be one of the best translation of the year by GuitarGosu over Angryjew.
Translation of the Year
Gogogo, punch the hacker on the face.

| Terran Block at 6 is No Longer Viable |
Yes is no longer a complete seal due to a bug with Protoss's Assimiliator. Take a look at the screen shots below. When a Protoss's Probe build an Assimiliator at the gas, Zerglings are then able to go through it. However, this will not work with Terran's Refinery and Zerg's Extractor.
The screenshot below shows a complete seal by Terran at 6.

However, when a Protoss's Assimiliator is build on the gas, Zergligns can slip through it without any problem.

Bear in mind this only applies to Zerglings. Even Marine will not be able to slip through it.

According to Surfer4life, this technique has only been popularized lately. That basically mean you are still safe if you are playing public because the newbies still do not know about this technique yet. However, beware when you are playing inny. |
| Resources Sharing? |
The recent Q&A with Blizzard has got my attention lately.
6. Will players be able to send resources to their allies? If so, will there be a limit to the amount of resources they are able to send?
Yes, players can send and request resources among teammates but only after a few minutes into the game. The reason for this is to minimize imbalances that could be created by one player getting a massive early economic boost from his or her partner dumping resources at the outset of the game. There currently is no limit to how many resources you can share.
With this feature, the whole gameplay will change drastically. In a 3on3 game, keep harassing the same player will never be that effective anymore. In BGH, sometimes you see a super player is able to take on 3 players because he can keep harassing 2 weaker players to not let them "grow", while defending from the 3rd player. That's what make it 1vs3 and a GG. This will not happen anymore in SC2 since this player who has not been harassed can share his resources to this 2 players.
Imagine I have 15k minerals but I am unable to fight this super guy off although I have reach 200 units, so I will just send my 5k minerals to each of my no-money-ally, and they will then immediately put up 100 cannons everywhere. Now, that situation is very demoralizing.
Resources sharing will definitely make the game play goes way TOO LONG because the player just won't die so easily now... which is something we all do not want. This is not Dota or Warcraft. This is Starcraft and we want the game to be short and sweet, 10min to 30min is enough. Resources sharing will probably drag the game to 1 hour or more.
Looking at the bright side, this feature will definitely make variety in the game. This will give us more strategy and interesting situation in a team game. And again, this is Starcraft 2 we are talking about, so we should look for evolution instead of seeking back what Starcraft 1 is.
I hope Blizzard make the right judgment on this. One thing which I think Blizzard should definitely implement is the resources from a dead or drop ally will be distributed to his allies. Now that is something we all need in Starcraft 1.
